Welcome to VO2boost ("we", "our", or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy outlines how your personal information is collected, used, and safeguarded when using our mobile application ("App").
2. Information We Collect
VO2boost operates primarily as a locally-stored application. The data we collect is minimal and strictly necessary for the App's core functionality:
- Location Data: We request precise (GPS) and background location access strictly to calculate your distance, pace, and speed during tracking sessions (including the Cooper Test). This data is processed locally on your device.
- Bluetooth Data: We request Bluetooth permissions to scan for and connect to external Low Energy Heart Rate monitors.
- Health and Fitness Data: We store data such as your heart rate, pacing, session durations, and estimated VO2max. This data is stored locally on your device using local storage.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To track and display your real-time workout metrics.
- To store a history of your past workouts and VO2max assessments locally.
- To connect to your BLE devices for heart rate monitoring.
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
VO2boost values your privacy. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third-party advertisers or data brokers. All workout and location data is processed and stored on your device.
We use the following third-party services that may receive limited, anonymous data:
- PostHog — anonymous usage analytics (e.g. session started, onboarding completed). No personal information, health data, or location is included in these events.
- RevenueCat — in-app purchase management. Receives your anonymous device identifier and purchase history solely to verify and restore your subscription.
5. Security
The security of your data is important to us. Because your training data is stored securely on your local device, the protection of this data relies on your device's security measures (e.g., passcode or biometric lock).
6. Your Rights
You may delete your locally stored data at any time by clearing the App's data in your device settings (Settings → Apps → VO2boost → Clear Data) or by uninstalling the App.
To request deletion of any data held by our third-party service providers (PostHog analytics, RevenueCat purchase records), please contact us at ali@vo2boost.app and we will process your request within 30 days.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the new Privacy Policy within the App or its Store page.
